I love winter as most of the outfits give me a feel of warmth and romance. Don’t you agree? But how to dress well and able to impress is a knowledge. Let’s dive in and hear what Ann Reinten recommends us here.
Here in Melbourne we are melting with the heat and the thought of the approaching winter gives some renewed energy to suffer on. Little by little we are seeing summer clothes replaced by Autumn styles in the stores. The savvy shopper will embrace the new stock and start purchases key pieces while the most desirable choices are there for the picking.
Autumn/Winter 2014 is about embracing sporty luxe pieces, layering all the right things and even some wrong things that that end up looking so right—and piling on oversized pieces without looking scraggly.
Understated Glamour
From luxe jersey to double-faced wool, a lot of black and grey is going on. Sure, it’s a given that our palettes are darkening, but the silhouettes and cuts are anything but boring. Slinky maxi dresses, smocked details and second-skin finishes will be ruling under the cozy layers of greyed felt and soft fine wool in modern, rounded shapes.
Gleaming jacquard prints are also in the mix as tonal variations come into play in this trend. You can expect satin lapels and panels to take over before full on satin apparel touches the ground.
Also in the mix will be opulently printed dresses from digital tropical prints to tender blooms and reinvented animal prints such as snakeskin and leopard.
